Where are the performances this summer?

The Summer Theater of New Canaan has moved indoors and is performing its main stage productions at the NCHS Theatre on the New Canaan High School campus located at 11 Farm Road, New Canaan, CT 06840. This venue has remained consistent since the 2023 season. Please note, some smaller events may take place at other locations, so be sure to check the address on your confirmation email.

How do I get to The Summer Theatre of New Canaan?

By Car:
Merritt Parkway (CT-15) North and South: Take Exit 37. Turn left off exit onto South Avenue (Route 124). Follow 1 mile to first traffic light and turn left onto Farm Road. Venue is in is on your left.
I-95 North and Southbound: Exit 15 ( Route 7/Danbury) take exit 3 to merge onto Merritt Parkway (CT-15) South toward N.Y. City. Take exit 37. Turn left off exit onto South Avenue (Route 124)Follow 1 mile to first light take left onto Farm Road. School is on your left.

By Train:
The Summer Theatre of New Canaan is located equidistant between New Canaan and Talmadge Hill stations on MetroNorth’s New Canaan Branch of the New Haven Line (about a 6 minute taxi/rideshare from station). Also, the Darien stop on the New Haven Line provides additional train times without the need to transfer (about 11 minutes taxi/rideshare from station). How does parking work?

Parking is free in the front lot of New Canaan High School. There is no valet.

Is there shuttle service from the MetroNorth Station to get to the theater?

There is no shuttle service but local rideshare services and taxi services are strongly encouraged as it is not an easily walkable distance to the venue.

Is the theater accessible?

Your Experience

Does the theater offer pre-show dining?

We do not have pre-show dining on site but we hope you will enjoy some of the excellent local dining options New Canaan has to offer.

Do people picnic prior to the shows?

Our performance venue is on the edge of Waveny Park which provides a beautiful opportunity for a pre-show picnic with the family.

How should I dress for the theater?

Whether you prefer casual or formal attire, you’ll find comfort with your own sense of style! The theater is air conditioned so if you or your party are prone to getting chilly, we recommend bringing a jacket.

What if it’s raining?

Our current performance venue is indoors! We perform rain or shine.

Does the theater have a gift shop or concessions?

The Summer Theatre of New Canaan provides concessions and merchandise for sale pre-show through intermission. It is advised that if someone in your party has specific dietary needs to bring a snack to have before entering the theater if desired.

Ticketing

Do you offer discounted tickets?

For our main stage musicals, we offer “Access” tickets starting at $29 (including all fees). Depending on the production we may also offer a $5 discount for Seniors and Children in designated sections of the audience. These discounts will be available for all when purchasing your tickets. Students are welcome to use the “Child” ticket pricing if available. We also offer a $5 discount for all Military personnel by calling the Box Office.

For select productions Groups of 10 or more can receive a 20% discount by calling the Box Office or using the code GROUP online.

All discounts are subject to availability and may change at anytime. Not all productions will offer these discounts. Call the Box Office or visit the event page for additional clarity about discounts for specific productions.

Where can I view the various seating sections within the theater?

A seating map is displayed when purchasing tickets. Please note, our main stage productions have reserved seating, but some events may be general admission. https://ci.ovationtix.com/36199

What if I can no longer attend a performance, and I would like to adjust the date of my attendance?

Should you need to change tickets to another performance please contact the box office at (203) 966-4634 or email to Boxoffice@stonc.org and if possible they will make the adjustment. We may not be able to process changes within 24 hours of your performance date. Please note, any changes would be subject to availability.

What if I am no longer able to attend at all?

You can contact the Box Office to gift the tickets to another party, or you can return the tickets, and we can process the amount paid as a tax deductible donation. Refunds will not be issued.

Do I need to purchase a ticket for my child if they are going to sit on my lap?

All children over the age of two require their own ticket.
